"Unlike any ordinary traveller, who capture the mesmerising nature of landscape through the lens of their cameras and show only the gross beauty hidden in them, Uma would painstakingly draw her sketches elaborating every detail of the scene unfolding befor her eyes. If one is lucky enough to have a glimpse of the sketches done by the artist, only then one can understand the difference between a picture taken with a camera and a sketch done by an imaginitive artist. This is the skill that distinguishes Uma Bardhan from other modern artist, who mostly depend on images captured with camera to express their creation on canvas.

The artist has depicted several of her sketches on canvas but still a large number of them are waiting to be displayed on canvas.
